Castries the capital is a busy port with cruise ships docking practically every day. There is also a market selling local produce & stalls where you can buy your souvenirs. A plus is that there are plenty of restaurants where you can eat quality food at great prices & nearly everywhere accepts USD, particularly duty free shops north of the island.
If you like Jazz, once a year in May, a jazz festival is held on a connecting island – pigeon island (which is rich in history) where you can hear jazz artists from all over the world, it’s usually an island wide event.
We had a great time, sampling the local food, touring the island & enjoying the weather, it gets really hot & humid…did I mention the beaches? Oh, to die for, so picturesque. For a small island there is so much to do & experience, so, if you get a chance look the island up – you won’t be disappointed!
